The Incredibles

The Incredibles - Insurance Inc
In the Incredibles, Bob temporarily holds a job where he helps his clients with their insurance. In the video, an older woman finds it difficult to have her claim be accepted, until Bob gives her a loophole where she must follow certain requirements to get what she is after. This relates to the bureaucracy in terms of it being an overly complex, tedious process, ultimately making it difficult for any actions to be carried out, because of the prerequisites that prove to be difficult to understand and even more wearisome to follow. However, Bob actually makes an attempt to help his clients and take some action against the restrictions that withheld him from aiding the clients that actually need the assistance. However, he gets reprimanded by his boss, who has a problem with the fact that Bob's clients are getting the help they need and finding loopholes that go around the company's typically long and uncontructive process.

Japan Occupies Korea (1910-1945)

Based off what History.com describes the environment and well-being of the Korean people after being taken over by the Japanese, the colonial bureaucracy was not only strict, but harsh and discriminatory towards the Koreans. Koreans had lost their religion, education, language, and even had to celebrate the Japanese who had taken part in taking over their home. Eventually, they even lost their identities, as the Japanese "graciously allowed" the Koreans to choose Japanese surnames. About 84 percent of Koreans had accepted and took on their new surnames, because if they had refused, the colonial bureaucracy would refuse to recognize them, which would give the government means to not provide any services. After 1945, Korea split into two sections, once the U.S. and USSR ended Japanese rule; however, the Korean War broke out soon after and transformed only South Korea into a liberal democracy, to remove any remains of Japanese rule.
